About KDreambook
What this site is, where the interpretations come from, and what it is not.
Why this site exists
KDreambook was founded to bridge a major content gap for English-speaking readers interested in Korean culture, K-dramas, and webtoons. While generic dream dictionaries cover universal motifs like falling or losing teeth, they miss the rich, nuanced folklore of Korea—such as Taemong (prophetic pregnancy dreams), Josang-kkum (ancestor visits), and the agricultural origin of pig and manure dreams.
Where the interpretations come from
KDreambook is an independent project. It collects widely shared Korean folk readings of dreams (haemong, 해몽)—the kind passed down in families and repeated in everyday Korean culture—and explains them in English with cultural context.
These pages are not academic research, and readings differ by region, era, and family. If you know a different interpretation or spot a mistake, please let us know.
No fortune-telling or gambling advice
KDreambook operates strictly under an educational, cultural framing. We explicitly prohibit any form of gambling, betting, or lottery recommendations on this platform. Symbols associated with wealth in folklore (such as pig dreams) are explained through historical agricultural economics and linguistic homophones—never as financial advice or predictive claims.
